Injuries are one of the main reasons why a player has to miss a tournament. Some of the big names who will not play in the 2024 T20 World Cup due to injuries are Mohammed Shami and Jason Holder. While Shami was ruled out a few months ago, Holder had to miss out just a week ago. Ben Stokes pulled out of T20 World Cup while van der Merwe and Ackermann will miss the event due to their County assignment. Sandeep from Nepal will not play in the World Cup because he was denied a US visa. Here is the complete list of players who will miss the event:

A big miss for the respective teams

As usual, teams will have to have ways to tackle the uncertainties of losing players. Shami is a big miss for India, especially after his fine form in the 2023 ODI World Cup. Ben Stokes would have been a great option to have in the middle-order for England, considering the inexperience of the current lot.

Jason Holder’s absence is a big blow for West Indies. In a home-tournament, his experience would have been more than handy. For Bangladesh, Ebadot Hossain’s presence will be missed while for the Dutch, they are without the services of close to half a dozen of cricketers.
