It is time to say goodbye to yet another edition of the Indian Premier League. Amidst the General Elections, the BCCI managed to host the tournament in India itself. This was a good move considering the situation on the previous occasions of such a situation. On that note, in this article, we take a look at the list of award winners in IPL 2024.
Two deserving teams in the finals
Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad both displayed an immense brand of cricket which helped them reach the finals of the tournament. Particularly SRH started off with some big scores in the league stage, toppling many records on the way. The performance of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma at the top of the order was the highlight. Pat Cummins, as expected, led the team very well.
KKR, on the other hand, made some stunning moves before the season started. They brought Gautam Gambhir as the Mentor of the side and then hired Mitchell Starc as the most expensive signing in the history of the tournament. Throughout the season, they were on their mark with dominating performances. The likes of Sunil Narine, Phil Salt and Harshit Rana were consistent throughout the season. Varun CV and Andre Russell also chipped in wherever needed. Shreyas Iyer led them well, as well. Overall, it was a memorable season for the Kolkata-based outfit.
