KKR Fans Decode MI’s Batting Weaknesses on Twitter

The IPL match held on Tuesday between MI and KKR was one hell of a thriller. It was yet another close encounter between both the supergiants, ending in the favour of MI. The MI batsmen collectively put up a score of 152/10 in 20 overs. In comparison, the score seemed to be a minimal number, which as many anticipated, could be chased down easily.

The top performers from the MI squad were Suryakumar Yadav (56 off 36) and the skipper Rohit Sharma (43 off 32). The KKR bowling side showered an exceptional performance, resulting in MI’s total score being just 152 at the fall of 10 wickets. Their key contributor was Andre Russel who took up a 5 wicket hall in just 2 overs. Apart from him, Pat Cummings contributed too, by taking up 2 wickets and maintaining an economy of 6.

Before the advent of the match, the fans of each side highly anticipated the extravaganza. Both the sides looked pretty good and everyone expected a close rundown. What came in as an interesting fact is that before the start of the match, KKR fans flooded Twitter with a master bowling plan for the MI batsmen keeping past IPL records in mind. Here is what they came up with.

Twitter fans decode KKR ‘s master bowling plan against MI

Firstly, the KKR fans anticipated that playing both the MI openers, i.e. Rohit Sharma and Quinton De Kock, with spin might help. At the start of the innings, both Rohit and QDK struggle with spin bowling as usual. As planned, QDK was struck by Varun Chakravarthy in the beginning and Rohit was barged from scoring big.

The next plan was to treat I. Kishan with bounce, as records state that he struggles with them. This game plan was made to not coincide many runs from the batsman’s bat. The next super-move planned by the fans was to bowl Pat Cummins in the middle overs. That would ensure pressure on the batsmen, which would automatically lead to a lesser run scoring rate.

Another driven out plan was to bang it in with Hardik, Pollard and Krunal. Continuously hitting the deckled the KKR bowler to concede fewer runs against these hitting giants from the MI dugout. Along with them, Russel had to bowl in the death, thus occupying the pressure at ease. KKR fans wanted him to be introduced late in the innings.

This bunch of master plan was highly in the buzz over Twitter. Seems like the plan put forth by the fans worked well since KKR barged the MI batsmen from scoring big. In response to the 152, KKR could only knock a total of 142/7, losing the match by 10 runs. Their key contributor with the bat were Nitish Rana (57 off 47) and Subhmam Gill (33 off 24).

Although the bowlers of KKR dig in deep and performed extremely well, yet their batsmen could not. The batting squad could not score big, which led KKR to lose the match by 10 runs. However, their fans came up with an impressive game-plan, which worked manifold.
