Star India batter Virat Kohli has made a comeback for ages after being out of form nearly for three years. The 34-year-old failed to trouble the scorers much and things went this much worse from him as his place was even doubted in the team and he was even criticised for blocking way for youngsters.

But a short break ahead of Asia Cup 2022 did a lot good to him as he made a staggering comeback in the tournament and followed it with impressive run in T20 World Cup 2022. He carried his form in ODIs as he since the series against Bangladesh has looked completely himself.

He ended the year with century and kick started the new year with ton against Sri Lanka and followed it another hundred in the last game against the Island nation. Kohli produced another magnificent performance with the bat as he scored his 46th ton in ODIs and took his team to a comfortable position in the ongoing third game against Sri Lanka.

His 74th International century was another example of why is he considered among the greats to have played the game of cricket. Kohli scored unbeaten 166 runs and helped his side win the game. His innings also saw him becoming the third-highest run-getter at home in the format. He surpassed Mahela Jayawardene to enter the top five of the all-time highest run-getters in the ODI format.

With his ton, Kohli  became the only batter to score 10 centuries against an ODI team (Sri Lanka) and also broke record for most centuries at home. His unbeaten 166-run knock against Sri Lanka saw him smashing his 21st ton at home. Apart from his he also became only the 2nd player in history after Sachin Tendulkar to have 50 List A centuries .

Kohli’s breathtaking performances saw him climbing to No.4 spot in the ICC ODI rankings with 750 ratings. It’s fair to say that if he bats the way he’s doing, he will reclaim his No.1 spot.
