It was a forgettable day for the Australian bowlers on Friday. Riding on some sensational knocks, South Africa posted a total of 416 against the Aussies in the 4th ODI. On that note, here, we take a look at how Twitter reacted as Australia conceded 416 runs to South Africa in the 4th ODI.
Australia concedes 416 runs to South Africa
Australia has generally been in good form in recent weeks. Having won the first two ODIs, South Africa came back to win the third game. Hence, it was interesting to see how South Africa would go about in the fourth encounter. They were excellent in the first inning, with the Proteas getting yet another total above 400.
However, it was also down to Australia’s poor bowling effort that led to this outcome. Firstly, the management did not have a good team combination. They were forced to use Marcus Stoinis as the fifth bowler and this is something that would have surely been discussed by the opposition. The likes of Tim David and Mitchell Marsh also did not bowl, which was further surprising. Adam Zampa also equalled the record for most runs given away in an ODI spell.
Twitter reacts to Australia’s poor bowling show
It has been a while since the fans of the game saw such a batting display. It was also a poor show by the Australian bowlers. Hence, the fans of the five-time champions were harsh on the bowlers. Seen as one of the favourites to win the trophy later this year in India, Australia must pull up their socks at the earliest. On that note, here is how Twitter reacted to the performance of the Aussie bowlers:
RECORD: Adam Zampa from Australia goes for the joint-most expensive spell in ODI history – 0-113. Mick Lewis went for the same figures in 2006. Crazy 🔥🔥 #SAvAUS pic.twitter.com/mBwYG2kAqI
