Former England cricketer Nasser Hussain while talking about Bazball’s next challenge said that it will be their batters against the Indian spinners. He said that countering the likes of R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Axar will be difficult but it’ll be a fascinating series.
“It’s Bazball against spin,” Nasser Hussain touts England batters vs Indian spinners as the biggest challenge for Ben Stokes-led side
England will their Bazball approach have taken World cricket by storm. Ever since Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum have taken charge of the Test team, the Three Lions have looked like a completely different side.
England has adopted a fearless approach and instead of being conservative, which they followed earlier, they are going for the kill. They are yet to lose a series since Stokes took over and have given immense entertainment to fans all across the globe.
England has defeated New Zealand, South Africa, India, Pakistan and Ireland. Not many back their Bazball approach to work against Australia but they proved everyone wrong as they even made the ICC World Test Champions look clueless and dominated them in some games and drew the series 2-2.
Their toughest challenge however will be lined up next as they will be travelling to India next for the five-match series. India has been extremely dominant in their home condition and hasn’t lost the series in last one decade.
Nasser Hussain said that everyone was saying Bazball will not work against Australia but they proved everyone wrong. He added that their challenge against India will be fascinating. He explained:
“It’s the next test for Bazball. They said Bazball will work against one side, then they moved on to the next side. Then they moved on to New Zealand, Australia, Pakistan. The next challenge is India and everyone knows India in India is one of the sternest challenges in Test match cricket. It’s Bazball against spin. Bazball against Ravi Ashwin, (Ravindra) Jadeja and Axar Patel and that is going to be fascinating.”
The first Test match between India and England will be played on January 25th in Hyderabad. The second match is scheduled to kick start on 2nd February in Visakhapatnam whereas the third game will be played in Rajkot on 15th February. The final two games will be played on 23rd February and 7th March in Ranchi and Dharamsala respectively.
