Bobby Lashley has finally opened up on working with Lana in a romantic WWE storyline back in 2019/20. On the first episode of RAW after the Draft in 2019, Lashley made a shocking appearance with Lana and stunned Rusev, who is Lana’s husband in real life.
This interruption started a lengthy feud on the red brand, where Lana and Lashley would torment Rusev. Liv Morgan was also involved in the rivalry later, and it became a mixed tag team feud, where Morgan would team up with Rusev to take on the pair of Lashley and Lana.
It all continued until mid-2020, when finally, Lashley got annoyed of Lana’s interruption in his matches. Lashley and Lana had a fight, which ended with a divorce. The All Mighty then joined MVP on RAW and became an unstoppable Superstar, eventually winning the WWE Championship.
I think it’s safe to say, having Bobby Lashley leave Lana to join MVP and form The Hurt Business has been one of the smartest decisions WWE has made in the past year.

Many fans were shocked to see Lashley working a romantic storyline with Lana in WWE, when the two got together on RAW. Explaining why he agreed for the storyline despite being married in real life, Lashley said on Out of Character podcast:
“For me, I had to figure out the ‘why’. A lot of times people don’t want to know the ‘why’. And I think part of the ‘why’ for me was, when I came back… here are a couple of things – One, they were like ‘well, we want people to hate you’. That’s a good way (chuckles).”

During the same interview, Lashley mentioned that for him, wrestling was always shut up and train. However, during the storyline with Lana, he got to add some new layers to his character on TV.
“But, two, also I think it was getting me to loosen up a little bit. I trained so long with wrestling, and with wrestling, it was always ‘shut up and train’,” he concluded.

Lashley is currently a SmackDown Superstar. He formed a new faction with The Street Profits on SmackDown. Meanwhile, Lana is no longer a WWE Superstar. She has been working on her business now.
