“It Is Making Me Damn Emotional”- CSK Fans React As Faf du Plessis Scores 88(57) On RCB Debut

Faf du Plessis made his debut for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2022 today. He started a new innings in his career. Previously, he only played for the Chennai Super Kings. Many CSK fans were shocked when the team owners allowed du Plessis to join another franchise.

They did not bid much for du Plessis at the mega auction. Now, it seems the Chennai-based franchise may regret their decision. Playing on his debut for Royal Challengers Bangalore, captain du Plessis led from the front. He opened the innings and scored 88 runs.

The wicket at DY Patil Stadium is challenging for the batters. The average first innings score on this ground was 147. Even du Plessis struggled to score initially. However, once he settled down, he troubled the Punjab Kings bowlers a lot.


Many fans thought the new Royal Challengers Bangalore captain would score a ton. Unfortunately, he fell short by 12 runs as Arshdeep Singh dismissed him caught out. He smashed three fours and seven maximums in his innings that lasted 57 balls.

“The way he’s been batting in the nets and the practice games, I’m really happy I don’t have to bowl to him,” Royal Challengers Bangalore pacer Harshal Patel said about Faf du Plessis.ย

Faf du Plessis joined the Chennai Super Kings in 2021 and remained with them till 2021. In between, he played a couple of seasons for Rising Pune Supergiant, but in most of the seasons, he donned the yellow jersey.


CSK fans enjoyed watching du Plessis open the batting for their team and score runs against others. But today they saw du Plessis in another jersey and destroying the opposition bowlers. He loves to play against Punjab Kings and he continued doing that. Here’s how CSK fans on Twitter reacted:
