Indian fast-bowler, Ishant Sharma became only the second fast bowler after Kapil Dev to play 100 Tests for India, on Wednesday. He reached the feat after being included in India’s playing XI for the ongoing third Test against England. He is now the overall fourth Indian bowler and the second pacer to reach the landmark.
To mark the special occasion, Indian President Ram Nath Kovind and Home Minister Amit Shah felicitated Ishant Sharma at the inauguration of the Narendra Modi Stadium before the start of the third Test.
Ishant Sharma made a fine start to his hundredth Test as he picked England’s first wicket in only his second over of the match. He, though, bowled just 5 overs in the innings, taking a solitary wicket for 26 runs.
Ishant Sharma’s wife, who stood by him through thick and thin, has also congratulated his husband on the big day. Taking to Instagram, Pratima posted a heartfelt message for his husband which has left the fans in awe.
She wrote,

Ishant Sharma made his international debut against Bangladesh in a Test match in 2007. He though made headlines after exhibiting superb spells of fast bowling on his first Australia tour in 2007. The young fast bowler impressed one and all with his raw pace and swing.
Ishant Sharma currently has 302 wickets to his name in Test Cricket. He is no longer a part of the Indian Cricket Team in white-ball format. He played his last ODI back in 2016 against Australia. Furthermore, he has taken 115 wickets in 80 matches in his ODI career at an average of 31.
