This IPL may very well be a kicker for the upcoming T20 World Cup and may play a crucial part in shortlisting the candidates who can be a part of the upcoming biennial extravaganza. Former Indian off-spinner, Harbhajan Singh heaped praises on the Jammu and Kashmir speedster, Umran Malik whose illustrious spell against the Punjab Kings left the world in awe of him. In fact, such was the scale of the carnage, that the Turbanator also suggested that the selection committee should be considering the quick for the upcoming World Cup squad.

Speaking to Star Sports after the Punjab Kings, Harbhajan Singh was heard quoting, “This (Blue) is the only jersey missing and he should get it early. I feel he is the most deserving one who should be selected to play for India in that T20 World Cup in Australia. He could be your match-winner there.”

Umran has made a massive improvement from the last year’s outings where he claimed 9 wickets at a fine average of 22.33 which is a solid figure for the 22-year-old wunderkind. With the entire season ahead of him, if he can continue to be the menace that he is slowly evolving into, Sunrisers may have already picked up a fierce weapon for the ages to come.
