IPL 2019: Most runs, Most Wickets, Most Sixes, Most Fours and Fastest Fifties

The last season of the Indian Premier League before everything went into disarray due to the pandemic, IPL 2019 gave the fans an ample amount of everything that they expect from the tournament. And the same can be seen in the numbers listed here, which show how great the 2019 edition of the tournament proved to be.


Most Runs in IPL 2019:

David Warner made a strong entry both back into the Indian Premier League and the leaderboards of the tournament, bagging the Orange cap yet again, in IPL 2019. With 692 runs to his name in 12 matches, he ended his run in this edition of the tournament, as the top run-getter. KL Rahul of the Kings XI Punjab was placed at the second position, behind him with 593 runs deposited in his account.

Quinton de Kock, Shikhar Dhawan and Andre Russell were the players rounding off the top 5 of the leader board in this category. de Kock was at number 3 with 529 runs, Dhawan followed with 521 runs and finally, there was Russell who had managed to score 510 runs in total.

Most Wickets in IPL 2019:

The veteran spinner from the Chennai Super Kings, Imran Tahir showed that age is just a number, bagging the Purple Cap of IPL 2019, with 26 wickets to his name in total. The young bowling sensation, Kagiso Rabada fell behind Tahir’s tally by a wicket and had to settle for the second spot in the list of the top wicket-takers of IPL 2019.

Tahir’s teammate, Deepak Chahar was placed 3rd, having taken as many as 22 wickets in 17 matches. Shreyas Gopal, with 20 wickets in his bag, beat the 5th position holder, Jasprit Bumrah to race to the 4th position in the list.

Most Sixes in IPL 2019:

Putting on a great show for the big hits loving fans of the tournament in IPL 2019, was Andre Russell of the Kolkata Knight Riders, as the tall Caribbean pinch hitter managed to connect 52 balls into the crowd. The batsman placed behind Russell in the list was Chris Gayle, who managed to hit 34 sixes during the 2019 season of the Indian Premier League.


Coming in from the Mumbai Indians’ dugout was the ace all-rounder, Hardik Pandya who came in 3rd in the six-hitting fest, having hit 29 of those. Rishabh Pant and AB de Villiers, who had hit 27 and 26 sixes, rounded off the list of the players with the most number of sixes to their name in IPL 2019.

Most Fours in IPL 2019:

When it came to hitting the ball down the ground, across the boundary rope, it was Shikhar Dhawan who came out on top, having hit 64 deliveries in the 16 innings that he played for fours. David Warner, the highest run-getter of the tournament was placed second in this list, having hit 57 fours in 12 games.

Rohit Sharma, the winning captain of the tournament was the 3rd highest fours hitting batter of IPL 2019, as the stylish right-hander managed to hit 52 boundaries.  KL Rahul, at number 4 in the leader board that season, hit 49 fours and following his tally closely was Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Jonny Bairstow, who had hit 48 boundaries in total during the tournament.

Fastest Fifties in IPL 2019:

Hardik Pandya of the Mumbai Indians, the team that won the tournament was at the helm of affairs when it came to hitting the fastest fifty of that season of the Indian Premier League, as he managed to smoke the KKR bowlers in a match for 17 ball half-century. Rishabh Pant came in next in the tally, having hit an 18 ball half-century against the Mumbai Indians.

KL Rahul was the batsman who had hit the third-fastest fifty of that edition of the Indian Premier League when he hit one off just 19 deliveries against the Chennai Super Kings. Andre Russell and Keiron Pollard were the batsmen at number 4 and number 5, having hit half-centuries in 21 and 22 deliveries respectively.
