The inaugural edition of the Minor League Cricket is all set to take place in the USA from July 13th to 30th. A total of 6 teams will participate in the tournament and the league will be played at a newly refurbished stadium in the Dallas suburb of Grand Prairie, Texas.
The player draft for the league is slated to take place on 19th March. Notably, the draft will be only for the local players whereas the franchise can directly sign the overseas players.
After a major success in SAT20, the IPL franchises have plied their trade in Major League Cricket. Four top teams from IPL in Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders have reportedly owned a team in the league as per ESPNCricinfo.
The reports suggests that KKR and MI have brought the franchise on their own and will be running the Los Angeles franchise and the New York franchise. On the other hand, CSK have partnered with a Dallas franchise in Texas while DC in partnership with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella will be in charge of the Seattle-based franchise
All four franchises have named their home cities for the teams in Major League Cricket (MLC) and here are those:
