Lucknow Super Giants had quite an impressive debut in IPL. If not for the Rajat Patidar knock for Royal Challengers Bangalore, LSG could have progressed to the next stage. Nevertheless, the team has some gaps which can be filled ahead of next season. On that note, here, we take a look at three players Lucknow Super Giants can target for the next IPL season in IPL 2023 trading window.
1) Sarfaraz Khan
Despite doing well in domestic cricket, Sarfaraz Khan did not get many chances in IPL 2022. With the likes of Yash Dhull also targeting a place in the XI, Sarfaraz could have it tough. He himself might want to move elsewhere.
For LSG, Manish Pandey disappointed in IPL 2022 while Ayush Badoni’s form tapered off in the second half of the tournament. They will need someone reliable at No.3 with the ability to take on the spinners. Sarfaraz is a good candidate; hence, he is part of this list.
2) Shivam Dube can be targeted by Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2023 Trading Window

Shivam Dube is one of the players Lucknow Super Giants can target for the next IPL season in the IPL 2023 trading window. It is clear that LSG needs a left-hander in the middle order. There are very few options right now; amongst them, Shivam Dube seems an apt fit. The likes of Rinku Singh would also be on the wish list.
Dube would also add power to the lower middle order as Marcus Stoinis is the only batter capable of hitting big hits in that middle order. CSK might not release him but LSG could tempt the Chennai-based outfit with a good sum.
3) Rassie van der Dussen
Marcus Stoinis was not in great form in IPL 2022. This necessitated one of KL Rahul or Quinton de Kock to stay till the end. Also, the team would need an additional overseas middle order batter. Hence, they can target South Africa’s Rassie van der Dussen.
The right-hander can also play at No.3 and give a cushion to the openers. He can take apart the opposition on his day. Therefore, LSG can target the player to improve their batting attack.
