As IPL trading window approaches, a bit of action is anticipated from the CSK camp because they have got an ageing squad. Chennai Super Kings have traditionally been a team that doesn’t believe in chopping and changing too much and they seem to back their players even when they are not going through a great time. But there might be a few players whom Chennai might want to release in this trading window.
Here are the 3 players whom CSK might release during IPL 2023 trading window –
Ravindra Jadeja
Nobody would be surprised if Chennai Super Kings trade Ravindra Jadeja even though he has been one of the legends of the franchise and has contributed immensely in their title triumphs in 2018 and 2021. The relationship between Jadeja and Chennai took a hit last season when Jadeja was relieved from captaincy mid-way through the season.
The allrounder was not happy about it at all and since then, he has subtly dropped many hints that he might be thinking about making a switch and leaving Chennai.

Dwayne Bravo
Dwayne Bravo, just like Ravindra Jadeja, has also contributed a lot for Chennai Super Kings over the years and he is on good terms with the franchise as well, but he is at the fag end of his career now and with CSK already having Dwaine Pretorius in their ranks, who did well in patches last IPL season, they might decide to trade Bravo and bring another overseas player in.
Apart from Pretorius, Chennai also has a domestic young allrounder Rajvardhan Hangargekar in their squad whom they might play next season.
Tushar Deshpande
Tushar Deshpande, the fast bowler from Mumbai, got a couple of opportunities to play for Chennai Super Kings last season, but he couldn’t grab those opportunities and didn’t really leave a mark on the big stage.
With Chennai already having plenty of domestic fast bowlers in the squad and with Deepak Chahar likely to get fit for IPL 2023 as well, they might decide to release Tushar Deshpande and look for an extra domestic batsman or a domestic spinner who can be useful at their home venue Chepauk.
