IPL 2023 Mini Auctions: 3 teams that can target Dwayne Bravo

The highest wicket-taker in the history of the competition, Dwayne Bravo was released by Chennai Super Kings on November 15th. Although he is 39, Bravo is still good with his skills. Hence, there would be a few suitors for him. The upcoming auctions will happen on December 23rd in Kochi. On that note, here, we take a look at three franchises that can target Dwayne Bravo in the upcoming IPL 2023 Mini Auctions.

1) Gujarat Titans

After having released Lockie Ferguson, Gujarat Titans have a slot for a foreign pacer. They now have Mohammed Shami, Yash Dayal, Alzarri Joseph and Hardik Pandya as part of the pace attack. There is a requirement for a death-overs specialist in this group.

Since GT also had issues with their balance last season, they can target someone like Dwayne Bravo, who will also add value with the bat. Hence, the IPL 2022 champions could target the West Indian cricketer.

2) Kolkata Knight Riders

KKR is one of the franchises that can target Dwayne Bravo in the upcoming IPL 2023 Mini Auctions. Although KKR has spent a lot in hiring Shardul Thakur and Lockie Ferguson, the team still lacks a solid option for the death overs.

Here is where someone like Bravo can be useful for the team. His four overs can be used straight at the death and this will offer a great deal of balance to the bowling setup. KKR has the lowest purse for the auctions and since Bravo may not trigger a bidding war, the veteran can be a good option for the franchise.

3) Rajasthan Royals

The IPL 2022 finalists suffered due to the lack of a genuine all-rounder last season. Obed McCoy came good in the death overs but then they will have to sacrifice their batting depth to use him in the XI.

Dwayne Bravo is one option who can be useful for the team. Bravo, Prasidh and Boult will form a potent pace attack with the options such as Kuldeep Sen and Obed McCoy also available. At No.7 and No.8, the duo of Dwayne Bravo and R Ashwin can also add suitable batting depth.
