MI vs KKR: The first game of the week’s second double-header in the IPL would feature two teams with contrasting form of late as Kolkata Knight Riders clash with the Mumbai Indians in the latter’s den on Sunday afternoon. As the drama and the thrill of the tournament amps up by leaps and bounds, fifth placed KKR would hope to return to winning ways against an ailing Mumbai Indians who would be coming fresh from their first win of the tournament.

After a couple of resounding defeats to start IPL 2023 with, Mumbai Indians finally managed to hit their stride against a sloppy Delhi Capitals as the latter crumbled like a house of cards. Albeit the game going to the final ball of the innings, it never really looked like that Delhi could clinch it and Mumbai’s thorough dominance saw them through as captain Rohit Sharma was phenomenal with the bat.

Kolkata Knight Riders, on the contrary, were on a rampant run until they met the Sunrisers Hyderabad as their bowlers were left clueless in the face of some merciless striking by Harry Brook. Chasing 228, KKR could post 205, eventually falling short of the finish line by a mere 22 runs as Rinku Singh and Nitish Rana were the two standout performers of the night.


As the two teams meet, hoping to level the playing field and bridge the gap between the points table, the first and foremost thought for both the sides would be to secure a victory in no matter whatsoever way that would be possible. A win would help Mumbai Indians to come higher up the points table while KKR would try and aim for the top three with a third win from their 5th match.
