Batting first, GT could just score 135 runs. Although Hardik Pandya and Wriddhiman Saha had a good game, the others could not step up. At the end of the first inning, it felt as though LSG would run away with the game. The first over of the chase was a maiden but after that, KL Rahul and Kyle Mayers took control of the game. They scored a lot of boundaries and within the powerplay, it appeared as if LSG would win the match with a few overs to spare. However, that was not to be.
The likes of Jayant Yadav, Noor Ahmed and Mohit Sharma were in top form for GT. They had the support of the pitch and the brilliant captaincy by Hardik Pandya ensured that the pressure was always on LSG. The LSG batters also could not score boundaries and hence, they were in an uncomfortable situation. In the end, the GT pacers were on top and the likes of KL Rahul and Ayush Badoni could not score well and hence, they lost the game.
