“What my father did for me, I can’t do that for my kid,” An overwhelmed Hardik Pandya pays tribute to late father after World Cup heroics

Hardik Pandya got three wickets and scored 40 runs for India in the 4-wicket victory against Pakistan yesterday

The Indian allrounder Hardik Pandya, who played a key role in India’s 4-wicket victory over Pakistan in the T20 World Cup yesterday, was very emotional after the game as he remembered his late father and the sacrifices that he made for his cricketing career of him and his brother Krunal Pandya who is also a big IPL superstar back home in India now.

Hardik Pandya first got three wickets for India with the ball against Pakistan yesterday and then he was involved in a match-winning 100-run partnership with Virat Kohli when India was in all sorts of trouble at 31 for 4.

Pandya, when he was talking to ICC’s official broadcaster Star Sports at the end of the game, dedicated his performance to his late father and said what his father did for him and his brother, he can’t do that for his kid, even though he also loves his kid a lot.

Hardik Pandya was crying and had tears in his eyes when he said that he wouldn’t have reached where he has managed to reach without the sacrifices that his father made for him.

Hardik’s father actually shifted the family home and let go of his job to make sure that they shifted to a place where Hardik and Krunal had better facilities to train. The family and the two brothers had to deal with a lot of adversities in the initial phases, but IPL changed it all for them.

Both Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya have multi-crore IPL contracts currently

Hardik and Krunal were first bought only at their base prices in the IPL, but they straightaway left a mark for their team Mumbai Indians and showcased their potential to the entire league to earn multi-crore contracts for themselves.

While Hardik is currently the captain of the IPL 2022 champions Gujarat Titans, Krunal Pandya is the vice-captain of Lucknow Supergiants which also made it to the IPL 2022 playoffs. Both brothers have also represented the national team.

I write a bit on cricket and I am more interested in technical and tactical side of the game, rather than bravado.
