3 Retired Popular Players Who Have Played for 1 Franchise in IPL History

Franchise cricket is gaining a lot of popularity in recent times. The Indian Premier League has become the biggest franchise competition in the world. This year, two new teams, namely Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans, have joined the league ahead of its 15th edition.

One of the most important things in the IPL is to retain the team’s core and maintain a loyal fanbase in that manner. Not many teams have been able to do that in the IPL history, but some of them have managed to pull off that unique feat. In this listicle today, we will look at the three popular retired players who only played for 1 franchise in their IPL careers.

1. Sachin Tendulkar

The first name to appear on the list is Sachin Tendulkar. The former Indian batter represented his home franchise Mumbai Indians in his entire IPL career. Tendulkar was named the captain of MI in 2008, but he could not play some matches because of injuries. His best season came in 2010 when he was the Orange Cap winner and the Most Valuable Player of the Season.

3. Subramaniam Badrinath – Part of 2 teams, but played for 1 franchise

Subramaniam Badrinath was signed by the Royal Challengers Bangalore, but he played all the matches of his IPL career for the Chennai Super Kings.
