Team India lost by five wickets to Pakistan in the Super Four stage of the ongoing Asia Cup. After winning the first game against Pakistan, it was a difficult pill to swallow for the Indians after the loss on Sunday. However, India must quickly turn their focus to the next match against Sri Lanka. Rohit Sharma’s men have to claim a victory if they have to remain in the tournament. The game will happen on September 6th in Dubai. The management is likely to make a few changes to the playing 11. On that note, here, we take a look at two changes India might make in the playing 11 for India vs Sri Lanka Asia Cup 2022 Super Four game.
1) Dinesh Karthik for Rishabh Pant

India surprisingly left out Dinesh Karthik for the Super Four fixture against Pakistan. Instead, Rishabh Pant was given a chance as a left-hander. However, Pant could make just 14 runs in 12 balls and did not look to be in great form. Also, India struggled in the death overs against Pakistan. One fix to these issues could be to bring back DK.
The Tamil Nadu man will bring a lot of experience to the team. The Sri Lankan pacers are not greatly experienced and hence, DK can take the full toll of that. It is necessary that India has contributors in all stages of the game and Dinesh Karthik is one player who can promise that in the death overs.
2) Axar Patel for Deepak Hooda
Chin up, #TeamIndia. We'll always #BelieveInBlue – onto the next game! 💙

Axar Patel for Deepak Hooda is one of the changes India might make in playing 11 for the India vs Sri Lanka Asia Cup 2022 Super Four game. It was surprising that India went in with Deepak Hooda but he never got a chance to bowl. This was despite the others leaking a lot of runs. Also, Deepak did not suit the role of a finisher in the batting order.
Axar’s batting performances have improved in recent months. As a bowler, he is definitely better than Deepak. India could try the tactic of promoting Axar in the batting order, just like they did with Ravindra Jadeja. Rohit Sharma would have a lot more flexibility with Axar in the playing 11. Hence, he could get a chance.
