India cruises to a series victory against West Indies

Although the first ODI was one-sided, the second encounter promised to entertain the fans. India had to bat first and could not do well after losing the initial wickets. With contributions by Suryakumar Yadav and KL Rahul, Team India managed to post 239 runs on the board. With the kind of batting depth that the opposition possessed, India did not appear to be the favourites at halftime.

However, thanks to a disciplined bowling effort, India won the game by 44 runs. Prasidh Krishna was in top form and he was well supported by the likes of Yuzvendra Chahal. Rohit Sharma was impressive on the field with his intelligent bowling changes and field settings. Although Odean Smith threatened an upset at the end, Washington Sundar bowled a good over to seal the game for the men in blue.

Rohit has now won eight consecutive matches for India

Rohit Sharma has now won both his first T20I and ODI series after taking over as the full-time captain of India in the limited-overs. While he captained India to a whitewash against the Kiwis at the end of 2021, he has now helped India to a 2-0 lead in the ongoing ODI series. Including the games when Bangladesh toured India a few years ago, Rohit has now won eight consecutive encounters as captain of India.
