In reply, the Indian openers set the tone straight and Rishabh Pant played a firepower cameo that helped India pick up a 7 wicket win with 6 balls to spare. Ishan Kishan top-scored with 70 off 46 balls while KL Rahul scored a quick 24-ball 51.
On the other hand, Australia played the Kiwis in their previous warm-up game. Bowling first, courtesy of Kane Richardson’s 3/24 & Adam Zampa’s 2/17 New Zealand were restricted to 158/7. Kane Williamson top-scored with 37 off 30 balls. In reply, Steve Smith’s handy knock of 35 supported the Aussies quite nicely. However, Mitchell Santner & Trent Boult’s heroics lead the match down to the wire. A four off the second last ball helped Australia bag a three-wicket win.
Both teams look in great shape ahead of their World T20 campaigns. Although, India has been looking good with the bat and the ball and has a better shot at winning the upcoming encounter.
