Seth Rollins recently expressed his displeasure over Cody Rhodes facing the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39. He really spoke out his mind while on an interview with ESPN.
This year at WrestleMania 39 on its Day 1, Rollins is wrestling YouTube sensation Logan Paul in a one-on-one match. He may be on the WrestleMania card but he is not happy about Rhodes’ position in its main event. Cody has received a massive push since his return to the company in 2022 which doesn’t sit well with Rollins.
Cody made his return at WrestleMania 38, where he defeated Seth in an impromptu match. They continued their rivalry over the next few months where Rhodes was successful over Rollins three times in a row. Third and final time inside a Hell In A Cell match where Rhodes infamously wrestled with a horrific torn pectoral muscle. Cody was back after rehab and continued his elevated position in WWE by winning the 2022 Royal Rumble and going to the WrestleMania 39 main event.
Are Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes friends in real life?
In an ESPN interview, Seth expressed his frustrations over him not being in Cody’s position. He said, “I should be in that position. I’m the one who has held it down while he drifted off and went and did his own thing… I’m the one who held it down when everybody got hurt or did something else.”
Cody Rhodes had claimed that the two almost came to blows backstage after his return. On the Dan LeBatard Show, Rhodes said that they really cannot stand each other.
His words, “Seth Rollins is the closest I’ve ever had to backstage turning into a fist fight in front of all of our peers and upper management…Him and I absolutely can’t stand one another”. Rollins explained this incident by saying that there is just natural friction between them. Maybe, they can re-ignite their feud after WrestleMania is over.
