“I’m Not Leaving Because I Want To”- Paige Reveals The Real Reason Behind Her WWE Exit

Former WWE Divas Champion Paige dropped a bombshell earlier this week when she announced that she was leaving WWE next month. She is one of the most well-known female Superstars in the world of pro wrestling. Once upon a time, fans and experts considered her as the next big thing in women’s wrestling.

While she started on a grand note and won the Divas Championship, injuries derailed her career. She aligned forces with two of the four Horsewomen namely Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch during their early days on the main roster. All three female stars were members of the PCB faction.

Soon after splitting with the duo, Paige suffered an injury which forced her to stay away from the ring for a considerable period. She recovered from that injury and made a surprising return to RAW on one of the show’s episodes in 2017. She helped Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville get over as heels on the main roster. The three Superstars were part of Absolution faction.

However, during a match at live event, Paige suffered a neck injury again, which led to the end of her career as a pro wrestler. After that, she worked as the General Manager of SmackDown Live for a while. However, she did not have a long run in that role.

Paige recently shared the details of her WWE status in a tweet and a Twitch stream

The former WWE Divas Champion posted a tweet to inform the pro wrestling universe about her status with the Stamford wrestling promotion. She will leave WWE and become a free agent soon. She may even make a return to wrestling in another promotion. Disclosing the details on a Twitch stream, she said:

“I’m not leaving because I want to, they just don’t want to re-sign my contract. I completely understand. There is no hard feelings,” said Paige.
