Especially after COVID, Dubai became a hotspot for major cricket tournaments. While IPL was held twice in the UAE, the 2021 T20 World Cup was later held in the nation. Majorly benefiting the spinners, the dimensions also play a crucial role at this venue.
Although only 45 of the 80-odd T20Is have won by the chasing side, this record has been more prevalent in recent years. Hence, with the average score batting first just 146, captains could choose to field first after winning the toss.
