The Major League Cricket will be the new T20 league for the fans of the game. The first edition will start in July. As with the other newly formed leagues, MLC will also have the influence of IPL Teams. The owners of Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, KKR and CSK have all invested in the league. Here, we take a look at how Twitter reacted as CSK owners officially release the logo of the Texas Super Kings.
Texas Super Kings will be CSK’s representation in the MLC
TSK will be the third franchise for the CSK owners after CSK and JSK. With one of the most popular IPL franchises involved, the league itself will receive viewership and TSK will also get access to an already existing huge fanbase. This is critical for a league that has entered the fray now amidst several other leagues.
JSK also had a fine start to SA20. However, they lost in the crucial match. It will be interesting to see if any JSK or CSK players are picked in MLC for TSK. Already, in the draft, the franchise has made some notable signings such as Rusty Theron, Milind Kumar and Sami Aslam. MS Dhoni could be playing in his last IPL season. If he retires, he can play in overseas leagues. MLC will take a big hike if someone like MSD participates. At the moment, at least, that looks unlikely although we can rule it out at this stage. That said, someone like Faf du Plessis will surely be one of the expected players for TSK.
