“I Didn’t Have Extra Clothes”- Rovman Powell Reveals Why He Spent 2 Days In India Wearing A Towel

Delhi Capitals roped in West Indies’ hard-hitting batter Rovman Powell at the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. Powell has been a match-winner for the franchise this season. He smacked a match-winning fifty for his team in their fixture against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Also, he kept DC’s hopes alive of an improbable win against the Rajasthan Royals by hitting three sixes off the first three balls when DC needed 36 runs off the last over.

Fans should note that Powell does not belong to a wealthy family. He had made it clear to his mother though that he would take his family out of poverty. By nurturing his batting skills, Powell now holds a place among the top hitters in T20 cricket.

In a recent appearance on the Delhi Capitals podcast, Powell narrated an interesting incident during his arrival in Mumbai for the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League. The airlines told him that they did not have any of his bags, which is why he had to spend 2-3 days in a towel during his quarantine in the hotel room.

When I landed in Mumbai, I was told that the airline doesn’t have any of my bags: Rovman Powell

Sharing his experience of living in the hotel room without any extra clothes, Rovman Powell said:

“When I landed in Mumbai, I was told that the airline doesn’t have any of my bags. The only thing I had with me was my hand baggage when I left the airport. I didn’t have any extra clothes with me so I spent 2-3 days in a towel in my hotel room.”

During the same interview, Powell said that the Delhi Capitals have accepted him as a family member. He has enjoyed his stint with the franchise. The Caribbean star will be in action tonight when the Delhi Capitals lock horns with the Rajasthan Royals.
