‘I Am Officially Unretired’- Moeen Ali Declares That He Has Officially Come Out Of Test Retirement

Moeen Ali, an all-rounder for England, has said that he has “officially unretired” from the game’s longest format, the test match and that he intends to make a return to the England Test team. Moeen also said that he discussed his comeback in a conversation with Brendon McCullum, the new head coach of the Test cricket team.

It is important to remember that Moeen announced his retirement from test cricket in the year 2021. As of right now, he has participated in 64 test matches for his nation and has scored a total of 2914 runs in those games. He has taken 194 wickets while playing for England. In 2014, the left-handed batsman made his first appearance in a Test match against Sri Lanka.

“Very hard to say no to,” Moeen Ali has said of Brendon McCullum, the coach of England

Because Moeen has the potential to be extremely useful in the circumstances that they will face in Pakistan, the Three Lions will be travelling there for their next test assignment.

“I had a conversation with McCullum this morning, and we did talk about Pakistan sometime over the winter. The door is always open, and sure, I think I am officially unretired,” Moeen Ali made the statement while commentating on the match between England and New Zealand on the third day of play.

“He is the kind of guy to whom it is incredibly challenging to refuse. That is really hard for me to do. He is incredibly persuasive, and to tell you the truth, I would jump at the chance to play for him and Ben Stokes. Both of them are rather combative, and I believe that I would be a better fit for their cricket team. When I first stated that I was retiring, I really believed that my Test cricket career was over. Cricket left me feeling quite exhausted,” he went on to say.

In a recent exchange, Moeen expressed the following sentiment to the BBC: “When, or if, Baz McCullum wants me, I’ll absolutely play in Pakistan. In the past, I’ve participated in the Pakistan Super League, but it’s not the same. It is going to be an incredible experience to go to that region of the globe while having a family history that originates from England. Due to the passage of so many years without a visit from England, the occasion would be one that would go down in history. I am aware of the affection and support that are available to you out there because of their passion for cricket. It’s definitely something that has a lot of potentials to win people over.”
