Mercedes Mone has always been a sensational wrestler in the women’s division and her recent switch to AEW also made her one of the richest and the most influential grapplers in the antiquity of pro-wrestling. In fact, such has been her charm that people have compared her to the Hulk Hogan of AEW with all the creative freedom that she has gotten.
Now whenever you get famous, it goes without a saying that reporters will be coming after you with their own purported headlines and there is very least that you can do, rather than feed it to thin air. In a controversial statement made by former WWE commentator, Jonathan Coachman, he pointed out that Mone who is better known as Sasha Banks to the WWE Universe is nothing short of terrible.
Here is what Mercedes Mone had to say about Jonathan Coachman
In the latest issue of Mone Mag, Mercedes pointed out, “I don’t read Wrestle Press, but Wrestle Press, that centers on me, pops up in my social media feed. I didn’t read the article. I just read the quote in the headline. I’ve been dealing with this kind of stuff for over a decade, so I’m used to it. But I am kind of annoyed with all these dumb old dudes in wrestling coming at me. I know the only reason that they’re doing it is because my name makes people click on their links.”
She further added, “My name makes news. Oh yeah, and pretty sure making news makes Moné. Maybe that’s why I get paid what I do? Maybe? Lol. Plus, I’m sure it’s hard to see a young woman know and receive her value – and, not to mention, make a lot more than they do. But hey, either way, they can keep talking about me, whether negatively or positively. It reminds me that I must be doing something right.”
In her WWE days, Mone was electric with her Sasha Banks personality and was one of the leading names in the industry. However, things went downtown when she decided to ask for her creative freedom which was not really well taken by the company. In fact, a few reports stated that she asked for money that was earned by Becky Lynch and Bayley and the Stamford-based company declined her request.
