Shahnawaz Dahani recalls his “Dream” conversation with MS Dhoni

India and Pakistan clashed in the 2021 T20 World Cup in UAE. Although Shahnawaz Dahani was not in the playing XI for Pakistan, he took the opportunity to earn some experience. With a game against India scheduled, the pacer had an opportunity to interact with MS Dhoni, who was India’s Mentor for that campaign.

Speaking to Cricket Pakistan, Dahani said, “It will take a lot of time for me to explain the level of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Meeting him was a dream come true and I can’t forget that moment. His words were quite beneficial as he told me about life, how to live life, respecting the elders. He told that there will be bad and good days in cricket but you have to embrace it and stay dedicated to the game you love the most.”

The 23-year-old has been doing well

He has only played 2 T20I fixtures so far but going by his current form, it looks like he will play more in the coming months. In 10 PSL games so far, Dahani has collected 16 wickets and has been influential in Multan Sultans putting up yet another solid campaign. There is a lot of scope for improvement but there is potential in him to achieve bigger things. Hence, Pakistan will be hoping that he comes good.
