Here Is The Reason Why Drew McIntyre May Leave WWE Soon

On the latest SmackDown, Drew McIntyre was going to be in the six-man tag team match against Imperium. But reportedly, plans for him changed and he was not a part of the show. The Brawling Brutes Sheamus, Butch and Ridge Holland won the match with Sheamus securing the pinfall on Giovanni Vinci.

Reports from PWInsider and The Wrestling Observer say that WWE also cancelled McIntyre from a fan signing earlier that day. Gunther replaced Drew at the fan signing. Wade Keller of Pro Wrestling Podcast has updates on McIntyre’s alleged status in WWE. Apparently, apart from his health issues, McIntyre is also unhappy with the creative direction of his character and the financial aspect of his next deal.

Keller said, “We alluded to this that there’s been talk that he is unhappy with his current situation in WWE and I’m hearing it’s kind of a mix of creative and money and what kind of offer he’s getting for a renewal.” He also said that WWE believes that McIntyre may just let his deal run out. Keller also added that WWE pulled him from SmackDown this week because of these issues.

Will Drew McIntyre join AEW?

Drew McIntyre was a hot contender for winning the Undisputed titles from Roman Reigns last year before Clash at the Castle, but he surprisingly lost the match in his own backyard in Whales, United Kingdom. He has not been in the world title picture since and he was recently pinned by the Intercontinental champion in the triple threat match for the IC title as well.

WWE’s competitor AEW’s All-In pay-per-view is happening at London’s Wembley Stadium on August 27th. United Kingdom is Drew’s home-country. Fans now fear that Drew might leave WWE and debut on this PPV come August. If this happens, this will be a huge loss for WWE and a major win for AEW.
