Here is the qualification scenario for RCB if they lose against SRH

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 has reached its business end. Things for the playoffs are getting intense as seven teams are still in contention. Gujarat Titans have qualified whereas Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad have been eliminated from the league. However, these two hold the key to other’s success as well. It remains to be seen who will be the three teams to join Gujarat Titans

Here is the qualification scenario for RCB if they lose against SRH

Royal Challengers Bangalore are one of the teams that are in contention to qualify for the playoffs. They are currently placed fifth on the points table with 6 wins and 6 losses from the 12 games. However, if they managed to win their last two games they are most likely to qualify as they have a good NRR.

RCB are slated to face Sunrisers Hyderabad in their next game on Thursday (18th May). They would be desperate for a win but if they lose the game it won’t be curtains for them as they still have a fair amount of chance to qualify for the playoffs.

If they lose the game against SRH, they would have to win their game against Gujarat Titans and would want Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings to lose their last game as well because all these teams can reach 14 points if they win.

if RCB ends up losing one of their remaining games, then RR, Kolkata and Punjab also will remain in contention for the playoffs. In such a scenario, RCB will have to keep their net run rate in check which is currently better than all the teams mentioned above.

If RCB along with the above-mentioned teams wins their last game then NRR will come into the place. They already have NRR higher than these teams and therefore they would want to win their last game with a big margin so that they can qualify based on NRR.
