“He Would Have Eaten My Brains”- Krunal Pandya Explains His Feelings After Taking Kieron Pollard’s Wicket

Krunal Pandya and Kieron Pollard were members of the Mumbai Indians squad when they dominated the Indian Premier League in the last few seasons. Both players were important parts of the franchise, but this year, Pandya has moved to the Lucknow Super Giants. Last night in IPL 2022, LSG battled MI at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

A fine century from captain KL Rahul helped the Lucknow Super Giants score 168 runs on the board. The right-handed batter smashed his third century against the Mumbai-based franchise in his IPL career.

Chasing 169, MI got off to a decent start as they did not lose any wickets in the powerplay. However, they lost their four main batters in the next few overs and the innings went downhill from the position. Many members of the cricket universe would have expected a special knock from Mumbai all-rounder Kieron Pollard in that situation.

However, the former West Indies captain managed only 19 runs off 20 balls. He lost his wicket to Krunal Pandya in the final over of the match. Earlier in the game, Pollard dismissed Pandya when LSG were batting.

Krunal Pandya kissed Kieron Pollard on his head after he picked up his wicket

Krunal Pandya chose to celebrate the wicket with the batter Kieron Pollard himself. The left-arm spinner went on to kiss Pollard on his head when the Mumbai Indians star was visibly frustrated with his disappointing batting performance against the Lucknow Super Giants. Even after the match ended, both teams’ players shook hands, and Pandya did a little celebration while shaking hands with Pollard.

Commenting on how he felt after taking Pollard’s wicket, Pandya said after the match:

“I was so thanking God that I got his wicket else he would have eaten my brains right through. He got me out and thankfully I got him else he would have spoken non-stop.”
