“He looks a proper bowler”, Harsha Bhogle Impressed With Umran Malik’s Skills

India Premier League is the premier platform for talents to showcase their potential. The latest addition to this list is Jammu and Kashmir pacer, Umran Malik. Recently, popular commentator Harsha Bhogle wrote a tweet that showed that Bhogle is impressed with Umran Malik’s skills.

Umran Malik is the latest sensation in IPL

Hailing from Jammu and Kashmir, Umran Malik initially came to the UAE as one of the net-bowlers for Sunrisers Hyderabad. However, after last year’s sensation T Natarajan contracted COVID-19, SRH signed Umran as Nattu’s short-term COVID replacement.

In the game against Kolkata Knight Riders, the 21-year-old made his IPL debut. In his first game itself, the pacer rattled most of the KKR batsmen with his raw pace. Within very few deliveries, he clocked a speed of above 150kph and became the Indian bowler to have bowled the fastest delivery this season. Again, in the match against RCB, Umran hit the speed of 153kph and further impressed the viewers and the experts. He also took his maiden wicket against RCB and finished with the figures of 1/21 in four overs. This helped SRH defend a low total.

Popular commentator and host Harsha Bhogle expressed that he was mightily impressed with Umran Malik. Taking to his Twitter account, he said, “Something about the pace that has you on the edge of your seat. Umran Malik isn’t just a tearaway. He looks a proper bowler, and we need to look after him @IrfanPathan, any more there in Jammu and Kashmir?.”

Usually, pacers deliver the effort bowl occasionally. However, as seen so far, Umran has been bowling them consistently, and this will surely catch the attention of the grooming department of Team India. Importantly, Umran’s stocks have shot up and this is likely to fetch him a good amount in the upcoming mega-auctions before IPL 2022.
