Ruturaj Gaikwad has been in exceptional form this season. In fact, in his short IPL career so far, the Maharashtra cricketer showed that he has got the pedigree to do well at the highest level. Harsha Bhogle has expressed that he is impressed with CSK opener Ruturaj Gaikwad after the player’s performance against Rajasthan Royals.

It was actually in a disappointing fashion that Rutu started his IPL career. In his first three games in IPL 2020, he could add just five runs and had got out on a duck on two occasions. Just when he was about to lose his place for a different player, he struck form. He scored three consecutive fifties and helped CSK win games which helped the franchise to not finish with a wooden spoon last season.
The opener was coming off a poor domestic season, and he did not do well in the initial games of IPL 2021. CSK backed him despite making just 20 runs in his first three games this season. He later scored a few half-centuries and topped it with a century against Rajasthan Royals. He currently holds the Orange Cap in IPL 2021.

Harsha Bhogle usually shies away from going aboard while praising a player. However, Ruturaj‘s skills have impressed him, and Harsha said that the player is all ready for the higher level. Ruturaj Gaikwad had made his debut for Team India in the Sri Lanka Tour a few months ago. He got only a few games to show his skills. With the kind of form that he is in, it is likely that he would be made part of the senior squad in the upcoming tournaments.
