WWE Universe witnessed the monumental return of ‘The Original Tribal Chief’ Roman Reigns at SummerSlam 2024. Despite still carrying his heelish demeanor, Reigns’ comeback was met with a thunderous response by the fans who have apparently sided with him. This led to a WWE Hall of Famer giving his take on the situation that has come to light.
Which WWE Hall of Famer gave their take on fans siding with Roman Reigns after his return at WWE SummerSlam 2024?
In the latest edition of Sportskeeda’s The Wrestling Time Machine, WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long commented on the situation of Roman Reigns turning babyface after having a monstrous heel run for the last four years. Long believed that it did not matter if he was a babyface or heel as the fans were enthralled to see him return considering his amazing stature and stardom.
“It really doesn’t make any difference. You know what I mean, whether he is a babyface or a heel. He is an entertainer, and that’s what he does best. If he comes across as a heel, they don’t care. They love it. They sing that song all day and all night.”
Ever since Roman Reigns went on hiatus after his loss at WrestleMania 40, fans had been clamouring to see the Tribal Chief as Solo Sikoa took over the reins of his Bloodline and his moniker. This led to fans siding with Reigns even his absence and then getting right behind upon his resurgence at WWE SummerSlam.
Roman Reigns also made an appearance on the following SmackDown, where he confronted Solo Sikoa and his Bloodline cohorts, Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa. The ‘OTC’ single handily took them down and almost reclaimed the ‘Ula Fala’ before it came back to Solo Sikoa.
With tensions running high, the war between Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa is just beginning with exciting developments to be seen in the coming weeks.
