WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle has retired from pro wrestling. However, he continues to watch WWE and AEW shows as well as gives his views regarding the latest developments in the world of wrestling.
On a recent episode of The Kurt Angle Show, the WWE Hall of Famer discussed the career of the AEW World Champion, Samoa Joe. At the AEW World’s End pay-per-view, Joe defeated MJF and became the new world champion of Tony Khan’s promotion.
Sharing his views on Joe’s win, Kurt pointed out how the former NXT Champion never became a world champion on WWE’s main roster, but he holds the top gold in AEW now. Here’s what Angle had to say:
“Congrats, Samoa Joe. He didn’t get it in WWE, but he got it in AEW [being booked to win the world title], and I’m really proud of him because that guy is so talented. He is one of the greatest big men I’ve ever wrestled in my life.”
Angle worked with Joe across multiple promotions. Their last match against each other came in WWE during Angle’s final run. It will be interesting to see if they have another match in AEW.
What does Kurt Angle do now?
As mentioned ahead, Angle has retired from pro wrestling. He wrestled his last match against Baron Corbin at WWE WrestleMania 35, where he suffered a defeat. As per rumors, Angle was supposed to battle John Cena on the show, but WWE changed his opponent to Corbin due to storyline reasons.
One the funniest moments of 2023. Samoa Joe is an absolute treasure!

Angle now runs his show on YouTube. He also makes guest appearances on WWE TV on the special episodes. It seems unlikely that the WWE Hall of Famer will ever compete in another match inside the squared circle. However, one must never say never in the pro wrestling business.
