As per reports by ESPN Cricinfo, the ODI World Cup 2023 will start on October 5th. The World Cup is one of the most expected events right now. Hence, it was not a surprise that this report has now gone viral. On that note, here, we take a look at how Twitter reacted as reports emerge about the likely dates for ODI World Cup 2023.
Reports emerge about the likely dates for ODI World Cup 2023
As mentioned in the reports, the tournament will start on October 5 and will end on November 19. In the list of venues are Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Indore, Rajkot and Mumbai. The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is all set to host the final of the event. This was, anyways, on the expected lines.
Team India has not won an ICC trophy for a long time. In 2011, India won the World Cup and since then, it has been the host team that has won the tournament. Therefore, there would be a lot of pressure on the hosts to deliver and win the competition. That said, the squad still has a few loopholes, that need to be fixed. The batting line-up is brittle and against good attacks, it is very vulnerable. This needs to be fixed while India will have to ensure that Jasprit Bumrah will be fit by the time the World Cup starts. The spin department also needs some attention, with the likes of Yuzvendra Chahal not performing consistently. It needs to be seen if there would be any new contenders for this department after IPL 2023.

With Ahmedabad reserving the final for itself 🤷🏻♂️, the 2 semi finals must go to Eden Gardens and Wankhede respectively. It will be a shame if otherwise. https://t.co/hBiu7FK2mI
