Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Gujarat Titans by eight wickets on Monday in IPL 2022. Hence, Hardik Pandya’s men suffered their first-ever loss in their IPL history. Although at one point the game promised to go down to the wire, the SRH batters did not complicate the equation as they sailed to a comfortable victory. Batting first, Gujarat Titans were dealt a big blow with the early wicket of Shubman Gill. The youngster had led the team to victories in the last two games and hence, the squad was immediately under pressure. The likes of Matthew Wade and Sai Sudharsan could also not do well, leaving Hardik Pandya to do the job for the team. David Miller also fell early and hence, Hardik was forced to restrain himself. He made a 42-ball 50 and was supported by Abhinav Manohar‘s 35(21) to help his team post a total of 162.
Although SRH started slowly, they picked themselves up with some timely risks. Kane Williamson was the mainstay as he made 57 runs from 46 deliveries. The likes of Nicholas Pooran also contributed as SRH won the game with five balls to spare.

So far in IPL 2022, Gujarat Titans were the only team yet to lose a game. They came close to losing one against Punjab Kings but Rahul Tewatia pulled them out of the hole. However, against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Gujarat lost some key moments and hence, went down to them.
