The young CSK sensation Sam Curran has said that he has grown up watching the CSK skipper MS Dhoni play cricket and it’s great for him to be sharing the dressing room with a player of his stature now at CSK.
Curran has proven to be CSK’s best all-round player by some distance in IPL 2020 as he has chipped in with either bat or call in almost all the games for CSK this season. In the last game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, when he was promoted up the order with the bat, Curran scored a brisk 31 off just 21 balls which helped CSK get the kind of start they were looking for.
Curran then gave CSK the most important breakthrough with the ball as well, as he got the wicket of David Warner to deliver a massive blow to Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Sam Curran played well in CSK’s first game as well
Curran had a big role to play in CSK’s first victory of the season as well against Mumbai Indians as he had scored 18 runs off just 6 balls at a crucial juncture of the game to give CSK a winning start in the competition.
Because of the way he has gelled into the squad and the kind of freshness that he has injected into the squad in an otherwise very average season for CSK so far, Curran has got really popular among the CSK fans and that’s the reason why he was interviewed yesterday by IPL’s official broadcaster Star Sports.
“I watched MS Dhoni for most parts of my career, it’s great for me to play under such a legend of the game and keep learning and picking his brain in the rest of the tournament,” Curran was quoted as saying in the interview to Star Sports.
Curran will be seen in action again tonight as CSK takes on the in-form Delhi Capitals at Sharjah in the second game of the double header. While Delhi is in the top half of the table with 6 wins in 8 games, CSK has just been able to win 3 matches out of the 8 they have played so far.
