“Got Many Chances But They Have Struggled”- Danish Kaneria Names 2 Indian Youngsters Who Failed To Make An Impact In Recent Matches

Former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria shared his views on India’s four-run win against Ireland last night in a video shared on his YouTube channel. Kaneria opined that Ishan Kishan could not make the most out of the series against the Ireland cricket team. He also felt that Ruturaj Gaikwad could not perform his best while playing in the previous series against the South African cricket team.

Shedding some light on the performances of Ishan Kishan, the left-handed batter had a decent series against the South African cricket team. He registered three scores of more than 30, including two half-centuries, while playing against the South African cricket team. Against the Ireland cricket team, Kishan scored a brisk 26 in the first game but got out for three runs in the second game.

On the other side, Ruturaj Gaikwad scored his maiden T20I fifty during the Vizag T20I against the South African cricket team. However, he could not make much of an impact in the other games. He picked up a niggle during the series against the Ireland cricket team and did not bat even once.

“Ishan Kishan and Ruturaj Gaikwad have also got many chances to open. However, the two have struggled in terms of consistency,” said Danish Kaneria.

Danish Kaneria thinks Sanju Samson made the most out of his opportunity

Sanju Samson replaced the injured Ruturaj Gaikwad in the second T20I of the series against the Ireland cricket team. He opened the innings for the Men in Blue and scored 77 runs, his highest score in international matches. Commenting on Samson’s performance, Kaneria added:

“Samson got an opportunity (against Ireland) and made the most of it. But it remains to be seen if he can be consistent.”

India’s next T20I series is against England. It will be interesting to see which players retain their places in the squad.
