India is all set to lock horns with New Zealand in the three-match T20I series. The series is slated to take place from 27th January in Ranchi followed by the second and third games to be played on 29th January and 1st February respectively in Lucknow and Ahmedabad.
With just one day remaining for the start of the T20I series, India has suffered a blow as batter Ruturaj Gaikwad has been ruled out of the series. The batter complained of wrist pain and after a medical assessment, he was ruled out of the series as per the reports in Cricbuzz.
Gaikwad now has travelled to National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru for a prognosis of his injury and subsequent rehabilitation. It is learned that he complained about a wrist injury after the recent Ranji Trophy encounter.
Although no official confirmation and replacement has been named, it’s fair to say that it’ll be an opportunity for Prithvi Shaw to make a comeback to the team. The batter despite scoring runs wasn’t getting chances and now would want to play some games as well.
