On Thursday, BCCI announced the schedule for the upcoming home season. The assignment will involve four Tests, four of which would take place against Australia. One of the games will be in Dharamshala. Here, we take a look at how Twitter reacted to Dharamshala hosting a Test between India and Australia in March 2023.
Dharamshala will host the third Test between India and Australia
Nagpur, Delhi, Dharamshala and Ahmedabad will be the four venues that will host the Test series between India and Australia. For both teams, especially India, the upcoming series will be an important one. While India lost to South Africa at the beginning of 2022, they lost to England in the one-off Test. Since then, the white-ball squads have also suffered due to poor form. It is now important for the team to step up, especially with a place in the finals of the World Test Championship on the line.
Australia has a strong squad for all conditions. They recently defeated Pakistan and have got used to the conditions in the subcontinent. The likes of David Warner and Steve Smith are good players of spin while Nathan Lyon usually does well in India. The hosts will have to ensure the fitness of their key players. If that is guaranteed, they have a good chance of winning the series.
One of the most scenic grounds in India
Dharamshala last hosted a Test in 2017. It was a game between India and Australia and the hosts won the game easily. One of the most scenic grounds in the country, it would be brilliant if the match is a day-night encounter. The visuals would be further accentuated under lights. However, it is very unlikely because the conditions would then suit Australia. If India wants to have a pink-ball Test, it is more likely to be at Ahmedabad.
God make this third test day night please 🙏🏻 https://t.co/I3ZoqLO4WX

BCCI will host the Australia tests at farms like Nagpur and Dharamshala over Mumbai and Bangalore, then complain that there isn't enough crowd attending them.
