Things have drastically changed for Jaydev Unadkat. After grinding hard in the domestic circuit, he made a comeback into the Indian team after 12 long years. While many are celebrating his comeback, he didn’t waste time and went back to domestic cricket to give his fans another thing to celebrate.
In the ongoing Ranji Trophy game between Saurashtra and Delhi, Unadkat scripted history and etched his name in the record books. He became the first bowler in the history of the tournament to bag a hat trick in the first over of the game.
The lanky pacer achieved the feat when he first uprooted the stumps of Dhruv Shorey on the third ball of the over and then managed to get the edge of Vaibhav Rawal before trapping in Yash Dhull in Lbw to complete his hat-trick.
His heroics left Delhi tottering at 0/3 in the first over. Unadkat, however, didn’t stop there as he then went on to take 3 more wickets to pick up his six-wicket haul. His staggering bowling effort has reduced Delhi to 53/8.
Notably, Undkat had a decent comeback in the Indian team as well as he bagged three wickets in the second Test against Bangladesh and bowled impeccable line lengths to trouble the batters. His performance in the ongoing game against Delhi will make his case even more strong for the upcoming Test series against Australia.
