Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir has named two players whom he thinks will play a vital role for Indian Cricket in the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023. The 2011 World Cup winner feels that experience of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma crucial for the team.

BCCI shortlists 20 players for the ODI World Cup 2023 

The road to Cricket World Cup 2023 for the Indian Cricket Team is about to get begin. The ICC tournament is slated to take place in India in October and November. 2022 wasn’t the kind of year that Men in Blue would’ve wanted and therefore they would be hoping for normalcy to return in 2023.

They will play more than 25 ODIs and it’s fair to say that it’ll be the best possible chance for them to prepare.  After facing heartbreaks, they have one more chance to put their hands on the ICC trophy as Cricket World 2023 is just around the corner. The event will take place in India in October and November and with home conditions on offer, the Men in Blue will be clear favourites to win the event.



BCCI recently revealed that they have shortlisted 20 players and they will be rotated in the games ahead of the World Cup to prepare them for the event. It’ll also be a great opportunity for seniors in Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to fasten their seat belts and take their side to glory as they have been great servants of Indian cricketers for a long time.

With India on their road to World Cup 2023, Gautam Gambhir has picked two players that will be vital for India in the ODI World Cup 2023. He feels that skipper Rohit Sharma along with Virat Kohli will be the two players who will be crucial as they are experienced and big match players.

Speaking to Star Sports, Gautam Gambhir said: “The experience of Kohli & Rohit will be vital for India in the World Cup”.
