WWE SummerSlam is going to happen in August 2023 like it has traditionally happened earlier. However, it took place in July last year.

The 36th edition of the extravaganza is going to happen on August 5th 2023, at Ford Field Stadium, Detroit, Michigan. SummerSlam is one of the big four events of the year. It is happening in August after Backlash (May 6), King and Queen of the Ring (May 27) and Money in the Bank (July 1).

The just released official poster for the event shows multiple big names on it. It features seven superstars: Bianca Belair, Cody Rhodes, Rhea Ripley, Brock Lesnar, Charlotte Flair, Roman Reigns with Rey Mysterio in the center. This year’s SummerSlam logo is inspired by Detroit’s automobile industry and it features on top of the poster. Here’s what it looks like:

WWE has not announced any official SummerSlam match yet as the event is almost four months away. With the WWE Draft is coming up soon, it could lead to some interesting changes in the dynamics of the locker room. Right now, we can only speculate about what match-ups could happen on the show.

Early predictions for WWE SummerSlam 2023 match card

A major match-up echoing in the wrestling grapevine is Brock Lesnar vs Gunther. WWE teased their clash at the Royal Rumble and they have both expressed interest in facing each other. Right now, they have their hands full with Cody Rhodes and Sheamus respectively. But WWE has some solid long time in its hands to develop the feud between the major stars.

Also another fact we can derive from the poster is that Roman Reigns could still be the world champion come SummerSlam. Even though there are rumors about splitting the two titles held by Reigns, he could still be holding one. The possibilities are endless at this point.
