FRA vs SUI: Tournament favourites France will go head to head against Switzerland at the National Arena in Romania. The two teams will be playing a knockout match in the Round of 16 stages.
France started their European Championship on the right foot after bagging a 1-0 win against Germany. That was followed by two back to back draws coming off surprise opponents Hungary and defending champions Portugal. In their previous encounter against the former winners, Ex-Real Madrid players starred with Cristiano Ronaldo and Benzema scoring a brace for their respective nations.
Switzerland, however, didn’t have the best of starts to the tournament as they could just get a draw and a loss out of the first two games. They seemed to be taking the Turkish footballers for a toss as they beat them 3-1.
The opening goal by Haris Seferović and a brace by Xherdan Shaqiri ensured a hard-earned 3-1 victory that helped see them off into the Round of 16. Turkey’s İrfan Kahveci too scored one for his side a little after the first half but proved to be a consolation one.
Being the tournament favourites, France will be very tough to beat with the packed lineup that awaits the knockout matches.
