The Indian Premier League is all set to begin from Friday (31st March) with a blockbuster clash between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi International Stadium. The league will be played in the old away-and-home format as each team will play 7 away and 7 home games.

A total of 70 games will be played across 12 venues in Ahmedabad, Mohali, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Jaipur, Mumbai, Guwahati and Dharamsala. All the franchises have kick-started their preparations in full flow and it is expected that it’ll be another blockbuster season.

The broadcasting rights of the tournament however don’t only belong to Star this time. But Viacom 18 (Jio Cinema) have acquired the digital rights. They have provided different dimensions for the viewers with a variety of camera angles and 4K quality.

With just one day remaining for the league, Jio Cinema took a jibe at Star Sports. The broadcasting conglomerate urged viewers to turn to their channel and watch the IPL. They trolled Star, saying that viewers should Escape from the fault in their stars.
