2 former IPL players who are Head coaches in International League T20 2024

The majority of the franchises in the International League T20 are owned by the owners of IPL franchises. Otherwise, as well, there are some Indian owners. Therefore, we can see a lot of connect to the Indian Premier League. While most of the coaches have had a stint in the IPL, there are a few former cricketers who have got an opportunity in the league as a Head Coach. Here, we take a look at two former IPL players who are Head coaches in International League T20 2024.

1) Johan Botha – Sharjah Warriors

Not many remember but Johan Botha was an integral part of the IPL in the past. He represented various franchises such as Rajasthan Royals, KKR and Delhi Daredevils at that time. For many years, he was the lead spinner of the side and also did well with the bat.

Botha took an early retirement and shifted his focus to the T20 leagues. He was a part of the BBL for many seasons even after his retirement. Botha has now got a good chance as a Head Coach in the ILT20. This could be his chance to do well and get a contract in the IPL.

2) Hemang Badani – Dubai Capitals

Hemang Badani is one of the former IPL players who are Head coaches in International League T20 2024. Hemang Badani was a part of the CSK squad in the past but he could not play a game. Later, he found success as a coach, especially in the Tamil Nadu Premier League.

In the recent seasons, he was with the Sunrisers Hyderabad as the fielding coach. However, at the moment, he is a part of Dubai Capitals as the Head Coach. It would not be a surprise if the former cricketer gets a gig as an assistant coach for the Delhi Capitals, as well.
