Five dream combinations IPL fans would love to see

All the cricket fans are excited as the IPL is back! The best T20 league in the World is going to be played from September 19 to 10 November in UAE. One reason as to why the IPL is so successful is the combination of players you get to see playing together. Virat Kohli and ABD for RCB, David Warner, and Jonny Bairstow for SRH or Jasprit Bumrah and Lasith Malinga for MI are some of the combinations which you would never get to see anywhere else. But there are some more dream combinations which the IPL fans would love to see if possible. So, let’s have a look at 5 such combinations.

5. AB De Villiers and David Warner for RCB

ABD and David Warner are two of the best overseas players IPL has ever had. Both of them are at a completely different level. Warner has dominated the league in the last 3-4 years and won the Orange Cap thrice whereas ABD in the middle-order is a different beast. Imagine if these two-batsman come together in a single team and that to RCB whose home ground is Chinmaswamy which is a free-flowing ground. Bowlers from all other teams will be having nightmares if that happens. Warner would open the batting which can solve RCB’s opening problems and then if you somehow go past him you have to come up against Mr. 360! It would be a delight for all the fans if this happens but at the moment it seems a bit out of reach.

4. Andre Russell and Kieron Pollard for KKR

Two West Indian Power hitters in one team is always a deadly combination and if they team up for the Kolkata Knight Rider then the bowlers can’t do anything but just pray. Russell and Pollard, individually have the capability to demolish the bowlers just imagine what would happen if they are batting together at the Eden Gardens. As the opposition team, you would just have to keep getting the ball back from the crowd if these two get going. This would be a dream combination in the death overs for any team and even though it is not possible for this season we can’t rule out the possibility of them coming together as and when there is a Mega Auction.

3. Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar for SRH

Sunrisers Hyderabad already has a strong bowling line-up and somehow if they manage to get in Jasprit Bumrah then it would be the best bowling combination in the IPL. Bumrah and Kumar work well in tandem for India and they could replicate their performance for their franchise if they come together. It would be really difficult for the batsmen to score in the death overs if these two are bowling from both ends. It would be a dream combination for any T20 captain at the death. MI is not letting go of Bumrah and so this combination at the IPL would just remain a dream.

2. Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan for MI

Since 2013, India has had the best opening combination in white-ball cricket besides Australia. Sharma and Dhawan have been successful at the international level against all the teams but unfortunately, we haven’t seen this opening combination in the IPL. Interestingly MI was bidding for Shikhar Dhawan in the 2018 Mega Auction but eventually lost to KXIP and even they couldn’t get him as he was retained by SRH. It would be great fun to watch them bat together for MI at the Wankhede Stadium and with another Mega Auction coming up in 2022 you never know.

1. MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli for CSK

If you can have two Indian superstars in one IPL team then what else do you want? Everybody has seen this pair at the international level but we would be equal fun if they come together in the IPL. Both of them have a great understanding and enjoy playing alongside each other. When they bat together even the running between the wickets is something you don’t want to miss. Chennai Super Kings don’t like to change their team that much but all the CSK fans won’t mind this change. But let’s be honest this dream combination is only going to remain a dream because neither RCB nor CSK is going to let go of their respective superstars.
